It has to be said that those who choose the “Riviera delle Palme” are special people in search of a different holiday; so we have decided to create a programme that will arouse their curiosity and fulfil their expectations.
With the itineraries presented here, our aim is to explore the familiar places and aspects of our territory, the “Piceno”, as well as others that are less well known and more curious. They contemplate variants and deviations to enable everyone to build up their own personal journey. Along with opportunities to make discoveries – big and small – within the sphere of art and culture, attention is also focused on the extent to which traditions, crafts and food contribute to creating the background of a civilisation. The first piece of advice we would like to give is: before doing anything else, ask for all the programmes of the events and the illustrative leaflets of the three towns that make up the “RIVIERA DELLE PALME”, San Benedetto del Tronto, Grottammare and Cupra Marittima. While you’re enjoying your holiday, we really think it’s worth taking these excursions into consideration, at least once, for just three hours or for the whole day. Proceed “slowly”, without useless baggage, with a calm mind, stopping here and there to listen in silence......... you’ll “sense” all the love this land feels for mankind. Despite having been betrayed now and then, it continues to be kind and generous, always giving in to man’s needs and returning everything entrusted to its care, with a profit....... Every hill is characterised by a piece of history. The old hamlets are steeped in the atmosphere of days gone by and events that have long-since passed, and don’t be surprised to see the doors of the houses standing wide open, or the keys hanging from the locks; try greeting the first person that walks by, or stop to exchange a few words with one of the elderly locals – it’s perfectly natural in the “Piceno” district. Try spending a “perfect day”, during which no one works and everyone plays, in which it is enough to simply exist, without doing anything. You’ll see beauty in simple places, where others see nothing at all.
